Feedback:
Due to the nature of this problem, it is almost impossible to find credible sources such as research papers or journals. However, looking at blogs, forums or asking people around us can still gather enough evidence about the impact of this problem to everyday lives, though we inevitably sacrificed our credibility to some extent.
After presenting a Design Pitch to the teaching team, we realized that this problem needs clarification because teaching assistants were not sure about the exact problem. This is due to the bad wording (you may notice that the topic causes confusion when you first read it) and insufficient description. I also talked about it with classmates. In most cases, their initial reaction was we put our focus on hair loss prevention, but clearly this was not our objective.
We tried to reframe or re-scoped the problem, but we failed to do it appropriately. (It either became too specific - not solvable, or too general - "design something useful") And due to time constraint, we were unable to choose a new problem. What we could do was to make it as clear as possible, thus in our design brief, we paid close attention to the clarity of language.

Design Brief
Frame a Problem
Topic: Minimize Mess Caused by Hair Loss During Brushing
Our action:
This was the first group project in my design course (Praxis). Each group was required to define an everyday problem which causes inconvenience or annoyance. We noticed that for people who frequently brush their hair (especially females) complain that the hair is falling everywhere due to the movement of the brush which pulls the hair from the scalp, therefore creates a mess that is difficult to clean up. After some research, we found it was a common problem because many people mentioned it on Internet (blogs, forums...etc), and they sought for effective solutions.
